The perfect 5 day itinerary in the Cotswolds

I have lived in the Cotwolds for nearly a year and have visited this area more times than I can count! This area of England is so picturesque with the lovely shades of Cotswolds stone and you can instantly notice the difference coming into this region through the cute cottage houses. There is no other place like the Cotswolds in my opinion. Late summer and autumn is the perfect time to visit the Cotwolds.

My travels in the Cotswolds have been mainly with a car. But even without a car, this guide will help you make the most of your time in one of the most beautiful parts of England (with the help of public transport, tour buses, and an occasional taxi rides!).

To summarise, my suggested 5-day itinerary for Cotswolds (if you’re staying in Penzance) is as follows:

  • Day 1 - Arrive in Penzance and walk to St. Michael’s Mount

  • Day 2 - Explore St. Ives

  • Day 3 - Day trip to Porthcurno and Land’s End

  • Day 4 - Explore Newlyn and Mousehole

  • Day 5 - Explore Penzance
